Motorola has launched its latest smartphone in the Edge 70 series, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ in India, following its earlier announcement. Positioned as a premium flagship smartphone for 2026, the Edge 70 Pro+ combines advanced AI-powered features, a versatile quad-camera setup, a high-capacity silicon-carbon battery, and military-grade durability within a sleek, ergonomically curved design.

Design and Display

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ places a strong emphasis on style and comfort, featuring an ultra-slim 6.99mm profile and a lightweight 190g body. As part of the “Collections by Motorola” lineup, the smartphone arrives in three distinctive finishes created in partnership with the Pantone Color Institute™:

• Satin-Luxe finish in PANTONE™ Zinfandel
• Sculpted Wood finish in PANTONE™ Chicory Coffee
• Twill Inspired finish in PANTONE™ Stormy Sea

On the front, the device sports a 6.8-inch Super HD+ Extreme AMOLED 1.5K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The quad-curved screen offers a 96.8% screen-to-body ratio, peak brightness of up to 5200 nits, and Pantone™ Validation for accurate color reproduction and realistic skin tones. The Edge 70 Pro+ features a sophisticated quad-camera system enhanced by Motorola’s motoAI technology, which improves low-light performance, dynamic range, and detail rendering.

The smartphone supports 4K video recording at 60fps across all cameras with Video HDR support. Motorola has also introduced several advanced shooting tools, including Horizon Lock for 360-degree stabilization, Frame Match, and Adaptive Stabilization.

Users also gain access to Google Photos AI editing features such as AI Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, and Photo Unblur for enhanced post-processing capabilities.

Performance and Hardware

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, built on a 4nm manufacturing process and clocked at up to 3.4GHz. Motorola claims the chipset delivers a 40% graphics performance improvement compared to the previous generation, with an AnTuTu score exceeding 2.4 million.

The smartphone is equipped with a 4600mm² vapor chamber cooling system for improved thermal management, offering an 18% enhancement in heat dissipation. It also includes 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB UFS 4.1 storage, and support for 17 5G bands. Audio is handled by stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos® and Hi-Res Audio certification.

Battery and Durability

Despite its slim profile, the Edge 70 Pro+ packs a large 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can provide up to 51 hours of mixed usage on a single charge.

Charging options include 90W TurboPower™ wired charging, capable of delivering up to 12 hours of usage in just 9 minutes, along with support for 15W wireless charging.

For durability, the smartphone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets. It has also earned MIL-STD-810H certification after passing 16 military-grade durability tests, including resistance to extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 60°C, humidity, dust exposure, and drops from heights of up to 1.5 meters.

Software, Moto AI 2.0, and After-Sales Support

The Edge 70 Pro+ ships with Hello UI based on Android 16. Motorola has committed to providing three major Android OS upgrades and five years of Security Maintenance Release (SMR) updates.

The integrated moto ai 2.0 suite introduces contextual features such as Next Move, along with productivity-focused tools including Sketch to Image, Catch Me Up 2.0, and Recall. Users can seamlessly switch between multiple AI assistants, including motoAI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity.

Security is managed through Moto Secure 5.0, backed by Motorola’s ThinkShield security platform.

Customers purchasing the device also receive Moto Premium Care benefits, including 24/7 WhatsApp support, complimentary pickup-and-drop repair services, and a standby replacement handset during service periods.
