LG starts mass production of flexible OLED displays, foldable displays here we come

LG has begun mass production of 6-inch flexible OLED displays for mobile phones. The company said that at 0.44 mm this will be the thinnest display in production. The display instead of using glass uses plastic substrates which are encapsulated by a plastic protection film which adds to the flexibility of the display.

Samsung is also preparing flexible displays, and we might see something from them sooner than later. Same goes for LG, which possibly already hasa device called the G Flex in advanced stages of testing. It might open a realm of new possibilities with bendable, fold-able phones with humongous displays, yet remaining pocketable.
