LG G5 may have a removable battery even with an unibody metal build

LG may have fixed one of the major cons with unibody metal smartphones, non-removable batteries. The company is said to announce the LG G5 before MWC 2016 begins in Barcelona, Spain with a new modular design which would allow for a removable battery and a micro-SD card slot.

If you look at the image above, you can see that the bottom part of the LG G5 is removable which would allow for the battery to come out. The bottom part can be removed with buttons on the side. Now, this is just a render to show how the actual process works. The image definitely isn't showcasing the LG G5, since there are no rear mounted buttons which have become common across LG's lineup.

This new semi-modular design may just give us best of both worlds, the stellar build quality and durability with a metal smartphone and the utility of a removable battery. Expectations are high for the LG G5, since even the LG G4 was quite a critical success. We will be keeping a lookout for this.
