Lenovo K4 Note gets Android Marshmallow update in India, read before installing update
Lenovo has started rolling out Android Marshmallow update for the K4 Note in India, the phone was launched with Android 5.1 Lollipop onboard. Keep reading for the precautions before installing the update.
Just to refresh your memory, the Lenovo K4 Note comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display running on the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC with 3GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. It became popular due to a bundled VR experience, both in software with TheatreMax and hardware with the ANTVR headset. Then you also got a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device, which was rare back in January 2016.
Moreover, the front firing speakers on the K4 Note made it a truly immersive experience to watch movies, videos or listen to music. The new Marshmallow update for the K4 Note brings in better performance, battery-life and a cleaner interface.
The Marshmallow update weighs in at about 1.6GB and should be downloaded over WiFi.
There are some precautions to keep in mind before installing the update on your Lenovo K4 Note:
- First, if you have moved any apps to the SD card, you need to move them back to internal storage otherwise they will not be available after the update and you would have to reinstall them.
- Next, if you have setup the fingerprint sensor to unlock your device, it would not be available after the update and you would have to re-register your fingerprints. But you need to remember the pattern or pin used while locking the devive earlier, to enable fingerprint support.
- All paired Bluetooth devices will also be removed, so if you have setup smart-lock, any headphones they would need to be paired again after the update.
