Lava Iris 450 Colour Gaming Review
The Iris 450 Colour comes in the budget segment bearing replaceable backcovers, one of which is free inside the box alongwith several other accessories. It has a 4.5-inch display which is unusual in this segment. Its powered by the ubiquitous MT6572 chipset with Mali-400MP GPU and 512 MB RAM. It scored well in our benchmarks, so now lets see how the Lava Iris 450 Colour performs in our Gaming Review.
Gaming Review
We played several high-end games on the Iris 450 Colour including Asphalt 8, NFS Most Wanted, NOVA 3, GT Racing 2, Dead Trigger 2, Frontline Commando: D-day and several others. Gameplay was generally smooth, but there was a hint of lag in high-end games and the framerate was below what we expected. Although definitely playable, high-end gaming is not enjoyable on the Lava Iris 450. Modern Combat 4 and Real Racing 3 refused to work, probably due to low RAM. It seems that the Iris 450 has a very conservative RAM management policy which might be good for most apps and general UI but definitely not for gaming.
Conclusion
Although most games are playable on the Lava Iris 450 Colour, but sometimes gameplay becomes a bit laggy. Its can play basic games quite well, the display has good viewing angles and the speakerphone is adequately loud. Gaming performance specifically is better than the XOLO A510s available in the same segment. But its definitely not a gaming phone, but considering the price of about Rs. 7000 you are getting much more than you paid for.
