Huawei Mate S with Force Touch 5.5-inch 1080p display, fingerprint sensor goes official at IFA 2015
Huawei Mate S was announced at IFA 2015 featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p display running on the HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core SoC with Android 5.1 Lollipop based Emotion UI 3.1. Huawei has also incorporated Force Touch or a pressure sensitive touch-screen on the Mate S which can distinguish between varying pressure levels on the display allowing to launch different apps or zooming on an image. There's Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on the front panel to offer better scratch resistance.
Coming to the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera here with dual-tone LED flash, optical image stabilization alongwith a 8Mp front-facing camera that too with a front flash. The Huawei Mate S is a dual-SIM smartphone where you can use the second-SIM card slot to expand storage. A fingerprint sensor is also embedded at the back of the device.
Rounding up the specs is a 2700 mAh battery. 4G LTE support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS also come standard. The Huawei Mate S will be available in Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey colors priced at EUR 649 (about $730 or Rs. 48000) for the 32GB variant and EUR 699 (about $780 or Rs. 52000) for the 64GB Premium variant in Prestige Gold and Coral Pink colors. It will be available in China, France, Germany, Japan and other regions starting in September. The Force Touch equipped Mate S will be available in select markets.
