Honor 5C expected to launch today in India: Here are its Top 5 Features
Honor 5C is expected to launch today in India and we point out its top 5 features in this post. It is expected to launch under Rs. 10,000 in India making it one of the most sought after devices.
The Honor 5C runs on the Huawei's own Kirin 650 octa-core SoC which is built on a 16nm process with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 taking care of everyday tasks.
Here are the Top 5 features of the Huawei Honor 5C
Display
The Honor 5C packs a 5.2-inch full-HD display, with pixel density of 424 PPI which means you would get sharper visuals. The company also boasts of a 74% screen-to-body ratio which translates to thinner bezels and better single-hand usability.
Processor
Huawei has been talking a lot about the prowess of its new 16nm Kirin 650 chip which packs in 8 Cortex-A53 cores out of which 4 are clocked at 2GHz and the other 4 at 1.7GHz in a big.LITTLE configuration. The 2GHz cores would give the Kirin 650 exceptional single-thread performance speeding up app opening times and reloading times. The 16nm process decreases power consumption over similar 28nm chips, with a 65% increase in performance alone making it ideal for gaming.
The graphics engine is powered by the Mali-T830 GPU which the company says works 100% better than the Mali-450 GPU (Kirin 620) found on the Honor 4C. At this price point, the Honor 5C may take the cake in the performance department.
Build and Design
The Honor 5C would come with an aluminium build with a sort of dual-tone exterior which not only looks stylish but also premium. Its quite thin at just around 8.3mm considering that it packs a 3000 mAh battery and weighs in at 156 grams.
Then you will also get a fingerprint sensor on the device at the back just below the camera assembly. The rounded sides and edges of the phone would also assist with the grip on the device which is aided by the slimmer profile.
Cameras
You have a 13MP rear f/2.0 aperture camera on the Honor 5C. The larger aperture size means that it would trap more light, giving images more clarity and details. Moreover, larger aperture also means a shallower depth of field which would allow for natural bokeh effects like DSLRs. Then there's HDR mode to get better dynamic range in a scene, a separate macro mode, a light-painting mode with controlled shutter speed, full-HD video recording and slow motion recording as well.
An 8MP f/2.0 camera sits in the front as well which would again benefit from the larger aperture size with better images even in lower light. But aperture is just half the battle, how much data the sensor is actually able to capture and the software processing, finally determines the quality of images taken.
Pricing
The price of the Honor 5C will be the key to its success. We are expecting it to be priced at Rs. 9999 which would be a killer entry point for the smartphone. Although you have the Redmi Note 3 at the same price point with a larger battery, if Huawei nails the camera experience right then the Honor 5C may take the proverbial cake and eat it too.
