HTC to handle after-sales service of Google Pixel in India

Google has announced that HTC will be taking care of after sales service of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones in India. You will be able to to any of the 56 walk-in service centers in the country to get issues with your Pixel resolved.

All Pixel smartphones sold in India would be imported, even though HTC gets some of its phones assembled in Noida. Both the phones are going on pre-order starting midnight tonight on Flipkart and they will be available later through Vijay Sales, Croma, Reliance Digital, Spice Mobility, Sangeetha Mobiles, Poorvika and Jumbo. Google is aiming big for the upcoming Diwali festival in India where the company plans to make a dent in the sales of the Apple iPhone 7.

Pre-order (Flipkart): Google Pixel | Pixel XL

Google has the necessary clout and especially with the promise of latest updates people may be enticed to buy the Pixel smartphones. It's a great strategy to target both online and offline retailers. Considering that people still call the Nexus smartphones, Google phones, it wouldn't be hard to convince customers to try the Pixel out.

Coming back to the point of after sales service, a toll-free number will also be provided to customers to register their complaints and issues.

The Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones were launched earlier this month with 5-inch and 5.5-inch AMOLED displays running on the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM. You can choose from among 32GB and 128GB storage variants. Then there's a new 12.3MP rear camera which can record 4K videos with a bright f/2.0 aperture lens.
