Huawei Honor Magic launched with curved display, magic live UI, Iris scanner priced around Rs. 36100
Huawei Honor Magic has just gone official in an event in China. Earlier dubbed as a concept device, the Honor Magic packs a curved 5.09-inch AMOLED display in the front and the glass on the back also curves to give the phone a very thin profile.
Honor Magic Live UI and Features
There are a lot of software features on the device which are brought together by the Magic Live UI. The Honor Magic will be able to know when its being looked at and by whom. So it will only show notifications to the signed in owner of the smartphone when it is picked up. There is a frame sensor as well which knows when the device is held in your hands. So as soon you keep the phone in your pocket or put it down on a desk the display will turn off in a second.You can unlock the device with the Iris scanner or through the fingerprint scanner placed below the display. At the back, you get the same dual-camera setup with two 12.2 MP cameras as the Honor 8 with one monochrome and another RGB sensor.
Honor Magic Home Button Functions and Iris Scanner
You can unlock the device with the Iris scanner or through the fingerprint scanner/home button placed below the display. The home button also adds a few other features, including Deep Think AI integration which brings up additional information about the web page you are on by long pressing the home button. With the help of Magic Live, the Honor Magic will be also able to show tickets when you arrive at a movie theater, display license, and other information when you book a cab using the phone. There are no capacitive back or overview buttons on the device, instead, you can touch, double tap, long press or swipe to do all these operations with the home button.
At the back, you get the same dual-camera setup with two 12.2 MP cameras as the Honor 8 with one monochrome and another RGB sensor. For taking selfies, there's an 8 MP front camera. You will also find an infrared sensor and an infrared camera.

Rounding up the build the Honor Magic is just 145 grams in weight and measures 146.1 x 69.9 x 7.8 mm. Due to the curve on both the front and back with a thin metal frame in middle, the phone actually seems a lot thinner than it is.

The Honor Magic has been priced at 3699 yuan in China which at current exchange rates translates for about Rs. 36100 or $532 US. It will be available through JD.com, TMall, VMall and other stores.
