Honor 8 Smart launched with 5.2-inch 1080p display, Kirin 650 same as Honor 5C but almost twice the price
Huawei today launched three smartphones in India, the flagship Honor 8, then the Honor 8 Smart and a budget friendly Holly 3. All three phones will be available later in October, but let's talk about the middle child here, the Honor 8 Smart.
Coming to specs, it features a 5.2-inch 1080p; IPS display running on the octa-core Kirin 650 processor which is built on a 16nm process, there's 2GB RAM onboard and 16GB onboard storage with a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera and 8MP front-facing camera. If all of this sounds a bit too familiar, that's because these are the same specs as the Honor 5C which was launched earlier by the company.
Honor 8 Smart vs Honor 5C: Specifications and Features Comparison
Then you also have a rear facing fingerprint sensor here, 3000mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 running the show. So, it pretty much seems like the Honor 5C in a new body with a far bigger price tag.
Connectivity options remain similar as well including 4G LTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

Honor 8 Smart India Pricing and Availability
The Honor 8 Smart will be available in black, white and gold color options priced at Rs. 19999 later in October. It just doesn't make sense why the company would launch this phone with pretty much the same specs as the Honor 5C, which is currently selling for just Rs. 10,999.
Update (13/10/2016): As one of our readers pointed out, this is the Huawei P9 Lite which has just been re-branded as the Honor 8 Smart.
