Google Pixel Watch 3 surfaced online; Expected to Offer Two Different Sizes

Google is in the process of developing two different sizes for the upcoming Pixel Watch 3, aiming to address design concerns raised by users of the previous two generations, as reported by 9to5Google. The Pixel Watch 2, launched in October of the previous year, brought upgraded specifications while retaining the same design, featuring a 41mm diameter and 12.3mm thickness.

Although the specific sizes remain undisclosed, the larger variant is expected to surpass the 41mm dimensions of the Pixel Watch 2. A larger case could potentially accommodate a 1.3″ or even larger display, leading to improvements in battery life and the potential addition of new health sensors. For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Watch 6 is offered in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Apple Watch Series 9 is available in 41mm or 45mm.

According to the report, if Google releases multiple sizes for the Pixel Watch 3, the larger model may not be compatible with existing bands, possibly adopting 22mm bands instead of the current 20mm bands on the Pixel Watch 2. Given the absence of information regarding a new Qualcomm wearable chipset for the Wear OS platform, it is likely that the Pixel Watch 3 will continue using the existing Snapdragon W5 chipset.

Furthermore, Google is expected to address concerns about thick bezels observed in previous generations of the smartwatch. The Pixel Watch 3 is anticipated to make its debut in early October alongside the Pixel 9 series, with more details expected to emerge closer to the launch date.
