Google Pixel 9a CAD CAD-based Images Surfaced Online revealing Phone Design
Google recently introduced the Pixel 9 smartphone, and the Pixel 9a is expected to follow in a few months. Now, the CAD-based renders of the Pixel 9a have surfaced, revealing that its design aligns with previous live images of the phone and shows notable changes.
The Pixel 9a is anticipated to feature flat side rails and the absence of a rear camera bar. However, it still has slightly larger bottom bezels compared to the Pixel 9. The SIM slot has also been relocated to the bottom, consistent with the other phones in the Pixel 9 series.
The Pixel 9a is likely to be powered by the Tensor G4 SoC, but it may use the Exynos Modem 5300 from the Pixel 8 series, rather than the Exynos Modem 5400 found in the Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9a will still support 5G 3GPP Rel. 17 but with improved efficiency.
Additionally, the Tensor G4 in the Pixel 9a is expected to use Samsung’s IPoP (Integrated Package on Package) technology, instead of the FOPLP (Fan-Out Panel Level Packaging) used in the Pixel 9, to reduce costs, similar to the approach taken with the Pixel 7a and Pixel 8a. The phone will likely run Android 15 and receive 7 years of updates. It's rumoured to feature a 6.1-inch display, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage, and could come in four color options, including silver.
More details are expected in the coming months, with the phone likely to launch in 2025.
