Google's giant Nexus 6 phablet goes official with Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google Nexus 6 made by Motorola has just gone official, featuring a 6-inch display running the now christened Android 5.0 Lollipop. Just like the Note 4, the Nexus 6 too features a quad-HD (2560x1440 Pixels) AMOLED display but 5.96-inch in size running on a 2.7 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 805 chipset with 3 GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear with OIS and 2-megapixel front camera. Now if you think the device looks familiar, its the same in design as the current 2014 Moto X.

The Nexus 6 just like the new Moto X features a circular ring around the camera which is the flash and metal trim on the sides.

Then there's Google's new Material Design bearing Android L or Android Lollipop as it will now be known as. Android Lollipop is by far the biggest re-design of the smartphone OS since Ice Cream Sandwich and it revolves around how materials transform/ reflect our day-to-day use.

The Nexus 6 will be available on pre-order starting October 29th and will be available in stores later in November. You can also buy it unlocked for $649. At present there is no word on an India release.
