Google Maps update brings traffic update feature for 12 more Indian cities
Google has started rolling out an update to both the desktop and mobile versions of Google Maps where you can now get traffic information in 12 more taking making the total number of Indian cities where the feature is live to 34. The 12 new cities where the feature is live are Kolkata, Coimbatore, Lucknow, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Indore, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Nagpur, Kochi, Madurai and Bhopal.
Google Maps will provide real-time traffic information in all the 12 cities mentioned starting today including national highways and expressways.
Suren Ruhela, Director, Program Management, Google added:
We’re constantly working on making Google Maps a more comprehensive, daily tool for Indians, and we hope that this new real-time traffic information for 12 cities and all national highways will help drivers across the country find the best routes to their destinations with the fewest delays.
Google has also made voice-guided navigation available in several languages in India including Hindi as well as Indian Railways schedule integration with Google Transit.
