Google's Duo video calling app lets you see what your caller is doing before you answer
Alongwith the new messaging app Allo, Google also had an interesting one-to-one video calling app, simply called Duo.
The aim of Duo is take the complexities out of video calls. Just tap, select the contact you want to have a conversation with and you are all set. Duo offers end-to-end encryption alongwith HD video and voice support. The calling interface is clean and fades away after accepting, keeping the conversation personal.
Although the biggest highlight here is "Knock Knock" which shows a preview of what your caller is doing, so seeing the situation or place you are in, you can choose to accept or ignore the call. This could lead to some embarrassing situations though!
Google Duo is a mobile app and just like Allo, would require a phone number to sign up with. It would be available later this year probably around the same time as Allo for both Android and iOS.
