Asus Zenfone Max ZC550KL Gets Android Marshmallow Update

Asus has started rolling out Android Marshmallow update for the older Zenfone Max ZC550KL variant running on Snapdragon 410 and it would update with build no. WW_13.8.26.31. The update comes just after the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 and Laser 5.0 got their updates.

The company recently launched a new Zenfone Max variant in India running on the Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 2/3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage running Android Marshmallow. The older SD 410 variant was bound to get the update and here we are.

The Zenfone Max Marshmallow update is available Over-the-Air and will take about a week to reach all smartphones. Just to remind you, the Zenfone Max comes with a massive 5000 mAh battery with which it easily lasts more than 2 days. It runs on the Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage and was launched running Android 5.1 Lollipop with ZenUI on top.

Apart from Doze Mode, App permissions and Google Now on Tap, the new update would also remove some redundant apps from the phone. The only thing you want to keep in mind is that apps moved to the SD card need to be moved back to the internal storage before installing the update, otherwise they will not be accessible later. Marshmallow has changed the way APP2SD works, and the old way of doing things doesn't work anymore.
