Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the first smartphone to run on Snapdragon 821: Specifications, Features, Pricing
Asus has just announced a new variant of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe which runs on the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor.
This makes the Zenfone 3 Deluxe the first smartphone in the world to run on the Snapdragon 821 chipset. Then there's also 6GB RAM to accompany the flagship SoC with 256GB UFS 2.0 internal storage which can be further expanded with a microSD card slot.
There are two other variants of the phone with 4GB RAM/32GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB Storage which will continue to come with the, now older, Snapdragon 820. The other specs remain same including the 5.7-inch 1080p display, Android Marshmallow, 23MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing camera, fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C for with fast charging, notification LED, USG OTG, dual-SIM 4G support and 3000 mAh battery.
Snapdragon 821
The newly minted chipset is simply an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 820. It uses the same 4 Kryo cores in big.LITTLE arrangement where the performance oriented cores are now clocked at 2.4GHz and the power-saver at 2.0GHz. Adreno 530 GPU has also received a clock boost which overall results in 10% better performance over SD820.
