Amazon has launched its latest Echo lineup—including the Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11—built to take full advantage of Alexa+, the company’s next-generation AI assistant introduced earlier this year.
Custom Silicon: AZ3 and AZ3 Pro -
The new Echo devices are powered by Amazon’s custom AZ3 and AZ3 Pro chips, both equipped with an AI Accelerator designed to run advanced edge AI models.
- Echo Dot Max - Powered by AZ3, it delivers faster conversation detection, improved background noise filtering, and more accurate wake-word recognition (over 50% better), resulting in smoother, more natural interactions.
- Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, Echo Show 11 - Powered by AZ3 Pro, which expands on AZ3’s audio capabilities while supporting advanced language models and vision transformers.
Omnisense: Ambient AI Sensor Platform -
Leveraging these chips, Omnisense integrates a range of sensors—13MP camera (on Echo Show devices), audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometer, and Wi-Fi CSI. Together, these allow Alexa+ to respond intelligently to contextual events, such as sending reminders when a specific person enters a room or issuing alerts if the garage door remains unlocked at night.
Echo Dot Max 2025 -
The Echo Dot Max delivers nearly three times the bass of the Echo Dot (5th Gen), with adaptive sound tuning that automatically optimizes audio for the room. It features a two-way speaker system with a high-excursion woofer and custom tweeter, alongside an upgraded microphone array for more accurate voice pickup.
